Les Gouros Mandé du Sud ont les mêmes origines ethniques que les Dan. Leur territoire était certainement plus grand, mais ils ont été repoussés par la pénétration Akan et comprimés au nord par les Dioulas. Cette tribu se caractérise par son animisme et a conservé son patrimoine culturel jusqu'au temps présent. Les Gouros sont certainement les plus habiles sculpteurs de Côte d'Ivoire et leurs masques sont connus partout. Le Zamblé est un masque de fête, de joie et de danse, dont la signification est caractérisée par le sujet pour lequel le masque a été traité.
